The Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio (BDBOS) has announced that the number of radio subscribers registered on the BOS digital radio TETRA network is growing steadily. In June 2018, the 800,000 mark was exceeded.
BOS’s TETRA digital radio network, provided by Airbus, provides a uniform, high-performance operational communications nationwide for all authorities and organizations with security tasks in Germany.
Currently, about two-thirds of radio subscribers, about 517,000, belong to the non-police security group. These include fire brigades, rescue services, civil protection and relief organizations.
In addition, federal and state government police also communicate with BOS digital radio.
Overall, over the radio network, about 50 million radio messages are recorded each month.
